I’ve announced our baby girls name. MABEL “[name_u]Billie[/name_u]” [name_u]Winter[/name_u]. And a large bunch have been pretty open about their dislike for [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]. Mostly older friends who obviously see it as dusty. It was a very out of character name for me. It grew on me and I can see its appeal. But I can also understand why it might seem polarising. I’m an older mom too. In between the young ones who find it new and the old ones who would only see it for a granny.
I’ve had so many compliments on [name_u]Winter[/name_u]. And [name_u]Billie[/name_u].
I know I shouldn’t care. But I’m holding back on filling out the birth certificate as I’m now having second thoughts. Husband loves it as is.
Maybe NewZealands name style isn’t ready for [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]?? Or maybe I should just stick with it and not care. It’s just that I’m not 100 on it now I’ve had so many negative comments!!!
Rant over.
Any thoughts?
I must be driving you all mad with my questions.
Thanks
